There is something familiar about gingham.. and something entirely different about ours.

Our Green Gingham begins with soft, 100% organic cotton and is created using the traditional art of hand block printing. Rather than a perfectly repeated pattern rapidly printed by machine, artisans work across the fabric by hand with small carved blocks, stamping the gingham pattern again and again. One section at a time. One impression at a time.

It’s slow. It’s painstaking. And in a world built around making things faster, cheaper and perfectly identical, that’s exactly why we chose it.

Look closely and you’ll see the evidence of the hands that made it. A block may have landed a little lighter than the one beside it. A line may not meet perfectly. You may notice a tiny smudge, a blank space, a deeper impression of color or a check that isn’t quite like the next.

Those aren’t defects. They’re the fingerprints of something made by hand.

We don’t want our gingham to look like it rolled endlessly from a machine. We chose this process because we wanted something with character.. something that carries little reminders that a REAL person had a hand in making the fabric you’re wearing.

If you’re looking for perfectly uniform, machine-made repetition, hand block printing may not be for you.
But if you believe, as we do, that a little imperfection can make something even more beautiful, we think you’ll understand exactly why this fabric became such a special part of our first collection.

Our block-printed fabrics are created in limited runs, and once this particular fabric is gone, we can’t promise when—or whether—we’ll be able to offer the exact same Green Gingham again.

The Camielle Dress: FIT

Named after my daughter, Camielle, for the simplest reason: she put it on and immediately felt beautiful & confident in it.
And since then, that’s been our favorite thing about the Camielle. We’ve watched women of different ages, heights, sizes and body types put her on and have that same reaction. And perhaps most importantly for a dress meant for real life… she has TWO pockets.

The Camielle dress is incredibly comfortable and easy to live in, while making you feel feminine, confident and beautifully put together.

Made from the softest 100% organic cotton, with an incredibly forgiving smocked bodice that gently hugs the body while allowing plenty of stretch.
It fits closely enough to flatter a smaller frame while comfortably accommodating a fuller bust and figure.. which is why you’ll see the very same size worn on several different body types throughout our photographs.

Long, airy balloon sleeves are finished with elastic at the wrist and can be worn several ways:
Pull them over the shoulders for more coverage, wear them off the shoulder for a softer, romantic look, or push the sleeves up when real life calls for getting your hands a little dirty.

The full-length skirt is fully lined, so there’s no need for a slip, while the lightweight cotton keeps her breathable, flowing and comfortable enough for ordinary days.

And because this was the dress that seemed to make everyone feel beautiful, it became the natural choice for our first matching “Little Daughter” design.. something special enough to share across generations.

A Note About Our Flexible Fit:
The Camielle was intentionally designed with a beautifully flexible fit. Her smocked bodice offers generous stretch while still comfortably hugging smaller frames.

Women’s XS tag — fits approximately XS–M
Women’s M tag — fits approximately M–XL

Models for size reference:
Camielle is 5’5” wearing our Size XS-M (usually a true XS)
Corin is 5’4” wearing our XS-M (usually an XS/S) 
Olivia is 5’7” wearing our XS-M (usually wears Medium)
Chrissy is 5’3” wearing our size M-XL (usually an XL) 

If you’re between sizes, choose based on the fit you prefer. The smaller size will create a more fitted bodice, while sizing up will offer a little more ease.

Little Daughter sizes are designed to fit true to age, with the same comfortable, stretchy smocked bodice.
