The Corin Dress in GREEN GINGHAM:
Perfectly Imperfect Fabric

There is something familiar about gingham—and something entirely different about ours.

Our Green Gingham begins with soft, 100% organic cotton and is created using the traditional art of hand block printing. Rather than a perfectly repeated pattern rapidly printed by machine, artisans work across the fabric by hand with small carved blocks, stamping the gingham pattern again and again. One section at a time. One impression at a time.

It’s slow. It’s painstaking. And in a world built around making things faster, cheaper and perfectly identical, that’s exactly why we chose it.

Look closely and you’ll see the evidence of the hands that made it. A block may have landed a little lighter than the one beside it. A line may not meet perfectly. You may notice a tiny smudge, a blank space, a deeper impression of color or a check that isn’t quite like the next.

Those aren’t defects. They’re the fingerprints of something made by hand.

We don’t want our gingham to look like it rolled endlessly from a machine. We chose this process because we wanted something with character—something that carries little reminders that a real person had a hand in making the fabric you’re wearing.

If you’re looking for perfectly uniform, machine-made repetition, hand block printing may not be for you. But if you believe, as we do, that a little imperfection can make something even more beautiful, we think you’ll understand exactly why this fabric became such a special part of our first collection.

The block-printed fabrics are created in limited runs, and once this particular fabric is gone, we can’t promise when—or whether—we’ll be able to offer the exact same Green Gingham again.

The Corin Dress FIT

The Corin Dress was named for the simplest reason: when I put the first one on, I didn’t want to take it off. And perhaps most importantly for a dress meant for real life… she has TWO pockets.

Of all the beautiful dresses I’ve worn, this is the one made for the ordinary days.. the ones that make up most of a life.
I wanted something beautiful enough to wear out, but comfortable and practical enough that I could throw it on in the morning, gather eggs, tend the garden, feed the horses, cook dinner and never feel like I needed to change. 

And that’s exactly what this became. IT IS SO COMFY + SO PRACTICAL- I don’t even feel like I’m dressing up. 

The shorter, easy length stays out of the way while still giving plenty of coverage. The entire dress is fully lined in soft cotton voile. It’s one of those rare dresses you can simply step into or pull over your head, cinch it where you like it, and go.

The neckline is completely adjustable. A functional tie runs around the neckline, allowing you to change both the fit and the look of the dress. Cinch it higher for more coverage, loosen it for a softer neckline, wear it slightly off the shoulder, or let the back fall a little lower for a more romantic look. The small V-opening at the center front can also be adjusted depending on how much, or how little you’d like to show.

The softly gathered sleeves are finished with comfortable elastic that was intentionally made generous through the arm.

Our sizing in this silhouette is intentionally flexible. 

XS fits approximately XS–M, Bust is fitted at 36.5”
M fits approximately M–XL, Bust is fitted at 40”
Dress Length is 32”

The bust is the most important measurement to check, as it is the least flexible or roomy portion of this fit. 

Corin is pictured wearing the XS and typically wears an XS/S. Granny Becky is pictured wearing the M and typically wears a Large.
We love showing this dress on different ages and body types because that’s exactly what we hoped to create—a silhouette that can belong to so many different women.

The Eyelet:
One of my favorite details may also be one of the most important things to understand before choosing this dress.

The hem is finished with hand-cut cotton eyelet, and it isn’t meant to look factory-perfect. Look closely and you may find an uneven edge, a loose thread, or a tiny variation from one section to another. To us, it looks almost like a piece of vintage eyelet you might have discovered tucked away in an old sewing basket—and that’s precisely what we love about it.

We intentionally chose details that retain evidence of the hands that made them rather than trying to make every dress perfectly identical.

If crisp, machine-perfect finishing is what you’re looking for, this particular piece may not be the one for you. But if you’re drawn to old textiles, handmade things and the beautiful irregularities that give them character, we think you’ll love it as much as we do.

It’s perfectly imperfect—and intentionally so.

The Green Gingham Corin is finished with that little bit of eyelet peeking beneath the hem, giving an otherwise wonderfully simple everyday dress just enough old-fashioned sweetness.

Wear it barefoot in the garden, with muck boots to the barn, cowboy boots into town, or dress it up and take it somewhere special. It pairs beautifully with our cardigans! 

This is the one I’m living in. And if I’m being truthful, I’ll probably end up having it made in every color.
